Alex Albon is the latest driver to answer a popular question in the F1 paddock, as he puts himself in the shoes of a Team Principal and names his ideal line-up.
Alex Albon has shared who he would pick to drive for him from the current F1 grid, if he were a team boss and money was no concern.
In his theoretical role, Albon’s first choice would be Max Verstappen, whom he raced alongside at Red Bull in the second half of 2019 and through 2020.
As for the second seat, Lando Norris would get the nod over fellow British youngster George Russell to steer clear of potential “fireworks”.

“If I didn’t have to consider salaries, I would definitely take Max. He is extremely talented and brings everything with him,” Albon told German publication Auto Motor und Sport.
“Looking to the future, I would pick another young driver. Because of the team dynamic, the choice would be Lando. He gets on well with Max.
“Max and George, that would probably mean fireworks.”
Albon was then quizzed on the differences between the sport’s younger stars, adding Ferrari’s Charles Leclerc to the mix.

“They are all at a similar level, but with different experience,” said the British-Thai racer.

“Max has the most races under his belt. He’s used to racing at the front in a top team. Charles has also made a step this year.
“Then there is George, who is battling with Lewis [Hamilton]. That’s very impressive. And then there is Lando, who is driving very strongly.”
Asked about being on par with the aforementioned group in their junior days, and whether he is now “stuck” at Williams, Albon replied: “You have to accept that.
“Everyone has a chance to prove themselves. Mine came very early in my career.”
