F1 United States Grand Prix at COTA 2022 : What you need to know – Austin American-Statesman

Formula One is coming to Austin this weekend when Circuit of The Americas hosts the United States Grand Prix Oct. 21 to 23. 
Last year, Max Verstappen fended off Lewis Hamilton to win the U.S. Grand Prix Sunday at Circuit of the Americas.
Verstappen has already claimed the 2022 world championship after winning the rain-shortened Japanese Grand Prix Oct. 9.

The race Sunday will be 56 laps of the 3.426-mile Circuit of The Americas Sunday. The weekend will include three days of events and entertainment to enjoy. 
Single-day ticket packages for Saturday are sold out. Visit the COTA website to buy single-day tickets for Friday or Sunday. All three-day ticket packages are sold out.
The 2022 United States Grand Prix will be broadcast on ESPN and ABC, here is this weekend’s F1 schedule:

Events for the Formula One United States Grand Prix start on Friday and end with the actual Grand Prix on Sunday afternoon. Here is the schedule for the weekend.
All times are Central.
9:30 a.m.: Masters Endurance Legends first qualifying session
10:45 a.m.: Masters Historic first qualifying session
11:55 a.m.: Masters Endurance Legends second qualifying session
1 p.m.: F1 Pirelli Hot Laps
2 p.m.: F1 first practice session
5 p.m.: F1 second practice session

8:45 a.m.: Masters Historic second qualifying session
10:30 a.m.: Masters Endurance Legends first race
12:35 p.m.: Masters Historic first race
1:10 p.m.: F1 Pirelli Hot Laps
2 p.m.: F1 third practice session
5 p.m.: F1 qualifying
9:15 a.m.: Masters Endurance Legends second race
10:55 a.m.: Masters Historic second race
11:30 a.m.: F1 Pirelli Hot Laps
Noon: F1 Drivers Parade
2 p.m.: F1 Aramco United States Grand Prix
If you did not buy an on-site parking pass, you won’t be able to park at COTA during the weekend. Vehicles won’t be permitted on COTA Boulevard without a valid parking pass.
COTA recommends guests take a shuttle to the track. Shuttles picks up at several locations around Austin and have their own dedicated lanes to get in and out of the property. The shuttles will run on a continuous loop. You can purchase a shuttle pass online here

There will be musical entertainment at COTA throughout the weekend. Acts will be playing at several locations around the venue with a concert at the end of each night. Here is the Germania Insurance Super Stage schedule:
Friday (time TBA): Green Day

Sunday at 4 p.m.: Interpol
Sunday at 4 p.m. (podium): Diesel aka Shaq

The Red Bull Austin Fan Zone at Fair Market will include watch parties for Saturday qualifying and Sunday for the F1 Aramco United States Grand Prix.
The free to the public fan event presented by Cash App will include performances and Austin’s own Dana Cortez as master of ceremonies for the weekend’s activities.
Local food trucks with full bar service will be on hand for the event, which also will include Oracle Red Bull Racing attractions such as the Pit Stop Challenge, a static Red Bull Racing Car, Red Bull Racing Simulators, and official Oracle Red Bull Racing and Scuderia AlphaTauri merchandise.
