Lewis Hamilton is one of the greatest racing drivers of all time. The Mercedes star has won the World Championship 7 times. Hamilton has won 103 races and a further 188 podium finishes for McLaren and Mercedes.
Surprisingly, many people still do not find his record impressive and don’t consider him one of the GOATs of the sport. Lewis Hamilton first came to F1 in 2007 and instantly became a title challenger. The rookie couldn’t bag his hands on the most prestigious title in F1 in his debut year.

However, Hamilton immediately won the title the next year and became one of the youngest title winners of his time. His switch to Mercedes proved to be one of the most successful moves the sport has ever seen. He won a further 6 titles with the Silver Arrows and narrowly lost out on his 8th last year.
Moreover, winning 7 titles does not cement the GOAT status according to some fans as they ditched Lewis in a recent Twitter post. In a Twitter post shared by ESPN UK, they named a few of this generation’s Greatest Ever athletes, including Roger Federer, Lewis Hamilton, Lionel Messi, etc.
However, much to the annoyance of F1 fans on the post, they didn’t seem to believe Hamilton was worthy enough to be on that list. They took to Twitter and dismissed any claims of Lewis being a GOAT.

However, it’s safe to say that after winning more than a century of races, Lewis is one of the most talented drivers this sport has ever seen.
