Formula 1 Miami schedule 2022: Times, TV channels to watch F1's Miami Grand Prix race practices, qualifying – Sporting News

This week, Formula 1 brings the heat to Miami.
For the first time ever, F1 goes racing in Miami as the top-tier open-wheeled racing circuit’s United States expansion continues, with the 2022 Miami Grand Prix airing on Sunday, May 8, live from beautiful, sunny Miami, Fla.
While Miami is a new backdrop for F1 drivers, the field is no stranger to North America: Formula 1 drivers have regularly raced in Austin, Texas, while also holding GPs in both Mexico and Canada. But the Miami GP signals further expansion in the U.S., with a third states-based grand prix coming to Las Vegas in 2023, and they plan to come back to South Beach for the next nine years, as well.

Bolded are race weekend events:
The customary five-event race weekend awaits Floridians this weekend: Practices 1, 2 and 3 all air on ESPN2 and ESPN3, while Saturday afternoon’s qualifying will air live on ESPN, setting the grid for Sunday’s race.
Entering the weekend, an entertaining championship race is starting to form: Ferrari has won multiple races for the first time since 2019, with defending champ Max Verstappen has either won a race or finished in the garage.
Lewis Hamilton, the sport’s biggest star, has yet to secure a victory this year, while teammate George Russell has outperformed him in a flawed Mercedes car.
In an effort to maximize eyeballs on the inaugural Miami GP, ABC will broadcast the race on Sunday afternoon, with lights out occurring around 3:30 p.m. ET. The coverage airs five minutes earlier, at 3:25 p.m. ET on ABC.
The United States Grand Prix, scheduled for Oct. 23, will also air on ABC.
David Croft will be on the lap-by-lap call on Sunday flanked by Sky Sports mate Martin Brundle.
