The Formula 1 2022 season has been a blast, with twisting tales at the top as reigning world champion, Max Verstappen, Sergio Perez, and Charles Leclerc race for the Drivers Championship. After years of lingering in the middle of the pack, Ferrari has finally become relevant again at the top of the competition. This has come to the detriment of the Mercedes team who has become a shadow of the ultra-successful team which won multiple championships, especially Lewis Hamilton who seldom looks in contention to win races.
F1 TV is a digital platform run by the competition body itself. The range of content differs wildly from country to country based on media rights and pre-existing broadcasting contracts across different territories.
Here in Australia, we have access to F1 TV’s original programming and the archive race replays. Considering the competition started in 1950, there’s a wealth of wheel-spinning action to watch and enjoy. Whether it’s recalling Ayrton Senna and Michael Schumacher’s legendary status from yesteryear, reviewing Mark Webber’s Silverstone victory in 2012, or just reliving that historic championship battle from 2021 between Max Verstappen and Lewis Hamilton – if you’re a F1 fanatic, you’re in the right place here.
There are two pays to subscribe and pay for F1 TV. You can pay upfront for the whole year at $41.99, or pay on a monthly basis at $4.49.
At present, there is no free trial for this service.

Other than the originals and the archive, there is some other great content available via this service, especially on race weekends. F1 TV allows you access to live timing and data boards as the race is happening. So you’d be watching the race and have F1 TV open as well so you can follow:
The live leader board data, live maps detailing on-track positioning of all the drivers, and even statistical insight into tyre usage from all the teams. In addition, there are also select audio clips from the team directors and drivers to better illustrate their in-race strategy.

This is a relatively stress-free process. Go to the F1 TV website, hit the button that says  ‘subscribe’, follow the instructions, choose your plan and payment type, and then you’ll be off.
Not in Australia. Due to contractual stipulations, you can’t watch current season races back on demand. Elsewhere, this is possible – but not here. You can however watch a near-endless pool of archive races from seasons gone by.

No matter where you want to watch F1 TV, you’ll surely be in luck as the app is available on a plethora of different devices. This includes a range of smartphones (apple and android, chiefly) Amazon Fire TV, Apple TV, Chromecast, and a variety of web-based browsers.
Sadly, it’s not – here in Australia. Those other races are available within other market but not on the Australian version of F1 TV.
