DKR Engineering finished the first day of the penultimate event of the 2022 Michelin Le Mans Cup as the fastest car on the grid. Laurents Hörr set the fastest lap of the 60-minute FP2 session, with a 2m13.203 just before a red flag brought the practice to a conclusion. However, it was Hörr’s 2m12.766 lap in FP1 that set the benchmark for the day ahead of qualifying and the 110-minute race tomorrow.
Malthe Jakobsen was second fastest in FP2 in the no69 Cool Racing Ligier, the Dane’s best time of 2m13.642, 0.439s behind the no3 Duqueine at the top of the time sheets. The no57 Graff Racing Ligier of Ryan Harper-Ellam was third fastest with a 2m13.828, nearly 0.5s ahead of the no43 Racing Spirit of Leman Ligier in fourth.
The no99 Bullitt Racing Aston Martin Vantage bounced back from this mornings curtailed FP1 when the car ended up at the side of the track for most of the practice session.Valentin Haase-Clot posted a 2m19.973 was four tenths faster than Jan Magnussen in the no88 GMB Motorsport Honda NSX, but it was Magnussen’s 2m18.708 lap that was the best GT3 time of the day.
Qualifying for the Spa-Francorchamps round of the 2022 Michelin Le Mans Cup is due to begin at 12h05 with the GT3 session, followed by LMP3 at 12h30.The 110-minute race is due to start at 15h05.
