If F1 really wants to get new viewers introduced, this finale would have been the PERFECT opportunity to have it free to watch for everybody.
They could have spent the week heavily advertising that this is the closest championship in over a decade, played up to the drama that’s been going on all season long and got people intrigued as to what might happen this weekend.
Open goal for what could have been one of the most popular sporting events this year…

i am not sure i understand you. TV stations all around the world are paying FOM money for broadcasting the whole season. FOM can’t be competing against them at the same time (not even for one race)

@joeypropane agree 100%. They did it for the cricket world cup final in the UK in 2019 and it was ratings success. Imagine if the race was live in the F1 YouTube channel – it would be massive.

Back of the open net – it’s live on Channel 4! Show starts at 13:00.
Heard the good news on “Midweek Motorsport,” and 4’s listings confirm it.

Hooray for an earlier start 👏👏👏
Staying up until 4-6 in the morning to watch F1 in Aus just hasn’t been feasible.

Never thought I’d be pleased to be going to Abu Dhabi, but thank God for a proper racetrack after that shambolic last place. Looking forward to seeing the revised layout, it seems pretty decent on paper.
