It was Charles Leclerc who produced the heat on Saturday afternoon, as the Ferrari driver pulled off a stunning lap in qualifying to take the first ever pole position at the Miami Grand Prix.
Leclerc saw off the intense competition from his team mate Carlos Sainz and Red Bull’s Max Verstappen to seal his third pole position of the season. Sainz was a further 0.190s behind the Monagasque racer, while Verstappen was a further 0.005s behind.
